The topic: Digi Scrap 101

(Covering the basics of digital scrapping and some of the most important tools to create simple paper style layouts)

This will be a weekly chat that I will be hosting at www.acherryontop.com. in the chat room

Each week a new chat topic will be discussed and challenge issued covering the topic. The chats will be offered at 2 times to accomodate time zones and the subject will be the same during BOTH, so it will only be necessary to attend one chat time. Those that attend will recieve ACOT points to use on future purchases, and those that complete the challenge will receive a gift from yours trully. NOW- It has been expressed that both chats times available are not necessarily going to work for some people wishing to partake- FOR this there will be a recap thread in the forum about the topics discussed as well as a Saturday "Nooner" recap chat. This will be for anyone to attend and either refresh or catch up on the topics at hand- And a question/answer based part to ask any new questions you might have developed during the few days after the Wednesday chat.

I will post more about the topic we will be covering tomorrow, as well as give you a glimpse at what the challenge will be- as well as gift :)

It's Friday and time to meet another Creative Sweetie!

This week I would like to introduce you to

New to the Sweet Digi Scraps team this year

and such fabulous addition...here is why:

I am La'Shawn. I am 26 (I will be 27 in a few weeks. woot!) I am a wife to my college sweet heart and we are parents to a 2 year old boy. I am a bit of a loud mouth, football loving, 3rd shift working, history buff, dork. lol.

Why did you start scrapping and what motiviates you to continue?
I have always wanted something creative to do and a hobby. I was online looking around for something to help me for a project. I stumbled upon digi scrapping and the rest is history. The obssession is what motiviates me to continue. lol. I have actually dreamed about scrapping. Yeah, that obbssesed!
What LO have you made, that shows who you are as a scrapper, your "style"

Why is being a Creative Sweetie important to you, and what is your favorite Liz kit?

Being a Creative Sweetie is important to me b/c I really enjoy Liz's creations. She is a super talented designer and I have never found a kit that I couldnt scrap with. I love scrapping with her beautiful and fun kits!! My favorite kit so far of Liz's is "Day Dreamer" I love the beautiful papers and colors of this kit. The cute cloud, snail, and flowers just topped it off. It is perfect for scrapping just about anything or anyone.

Name of the first boy you kissed and where were you?
     A boy named Craig and we were in the band room in the instrument room. Well, I kissed Mark when I was like 4. I guess that would really be the "first" lol

If you could have picked your own name, what would we be calling you?
     Elizabeth Jane...I am a history dork and it would be due to Tudor history. DORK!

Most overused word in your vocabulary?
     Fantastic!! I use it for any reason...even if I am ticked off.
If you were a cartoon or movie character, who would you be and why?
     Phineas or Ferb....They always have "the best day ever"...I have to watch the disney channel too much!

What was your favorite muscial group in highschool and did you kiss their posters?
     The Backstreet Boys ( I was in love with AJ!) My bedroom wall was covered with their faces...I cant say that I kissed them though.

Why did the chicken cross the road?
     To prove to the possum it could actually be done
Tell us a secret no one else knows
     Well...my bestfriend Stacey knows absolutly everything about me. So I can't do that.

     Boxers they seem more comphy!

World Peace or World Dominance?
     If you could be the one to accomplish world peace...you can have world dominance.
If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?
     I would stay at home with my little guy and be mommy and wife. That is my all time dream job. Really...I dream about it...when not dreaming about scrapping. lol.

new challenge each time...and we get to do this with

the CT members we all love!

of our Creative Sweetie team chicks!

We are please to introduce...Sheila (tweederbug)

My name is Sheila and I am a SAHM to my 2 kiddos Deagan and Ally. I live in a small quiet town that doesn't even have a stoplight and I LOVE it that way.I have 3 cats and 3 goldfish,and a pet frog. I am a photographer at heart and have now started a small business with the hopes of opening up my studio fulltime in the spring of 2011. I tend to speak before I think and I am quite loud. I enjoy watching baseball on tv .. go REDS and I love to travel.

I found digi-scrapping in 2005 and I became hooked right away. I came across Liz and her freebies in 2006 and have followed her around. We know each other and have worked on photoshoots together in a small studio in her hometown. She is as sweet in person as she is on the internet. We literally live 10 minutes away,ironic I think.

Why did I start scrapping?
The main reason that I started scrapping was the memories. I want my children to know where they came from and who they are. Scrapping is a way to preserve their childhood. A story in the journey that we all call life. My scrapping style changed over the years. Lately, I have been working on clusters,shadows and that thing we all love,journaling. This has been more my style lately.

I love being a Creative Sweetie because Liz is awesome. She provides me awesome kits to work with that allows me to create a memory for my children and future generations. My favorite kit of hers will have to be her kit At Work or Backyard Boy. I love when I find me a good boy kit. The girls are super nice on the team and supportive. Who would of known that a run in with Liz at McDonalds on Christmas Eve would lead me here .. thanks Liz.

What's the best bumper sticker you have ever seen?

What was your favorite muscial group in highschool and did you kiss their posters?
OK .. NKOTB was a big hit. I don't ever recall kissing their poster but I do remember going to their concert and claiming that I was going to marry Joey.
Tell us a secret no one else knows.
I am afraid of death,tornados and coyotes. My husband always says that a tornado is going to come and blow the coyotes in the house at me. See how mean he can be?

I don't kiss and tell,maybe because that is I don't remember.

Boxers .. I love wearing boxers around the house. They are super comfy but seriously,why the droop in the butt? Who designed the boxer?
What have you forgotten to remember over the years?
Take life slow because you can never go back. I was a fast paced girl and now looking back,I wish that I would of taken things more slowly. I can never go back and redo and sometimes I wish that I had a rewind button. I have no regrets,I would of just done things differently.
If you could have picked your own name, what would we be calling you? I still love the name Laney but I guess that I am stuck with Sheila.

I was so happy when I saw this in the team server. I had visions of

sweet layouts of all our past secret crushes, and the future ones

our little boys and girls are going to have.....sigh

Okay, this week we are travelling over the river for bit!

Time to meet another vital team member and a long time Creative Sweetie

I'm Kerri, happily married with two monsters, I mean boys! Robert is 6 and started school this week and Richard is 4. I am British but have lived in Germany for 31 of my 41 years! I am completely bilingual and am bringing up the boys to be the same, so far so good, we'll see how it progresses, now Robert is at school!

Why did you start scrapping and what motiviates you to continue?
I started digiscrapping in November 2007 and have never looked back, at the time it was clear my husband was going to take a job which would mean we only see oneanother at the weekend, and what better way to pass the lonely evenings. No one is ever lonely in the scrapping world, don't you think!

What LO have you made, that shows who you are as a scrapper, your "style"
Ooh this was so difficult, I love all my layouts in some way or other, I don't really know what my style is, I do know what it is not - I do not like or do fantasy layouts, and I love that I am finally journalling on my pages

Anyway this is today's favourite, could change by tomorrow

Why is being a Creative Sweetie important to you, and what is your favorite Liz kit?

I stalked Liz more or less from when I first found Digiscrapping, I think one of her kits was the first freebie I downloaded, anyone remember "Pink Lemonade". I loved (still do) reading her blog, and I stalked and stalked until I finally became a Sweetie. AND I LOVE IT HERE!!!

My favourite kit, another difficult question, I love them all, please don't make me pick, please...

What was your favorite muscial group in highschool and did you kiss their posters?
It was Wham! and I had them plastered all over my room, however I don't remember kissing George Michael, although the poster of Kevin Costner as Robin Hood may well have been kissed!

Why did the chicken cross the road?
To boldly go where no chicken has gone before (but in all honesty being the owner of 5 chickens, because they just don't look where they are going...)

Tell us a secret no one else knows
ooh just writing this makes my insides turn over, I do not like labels if they have to be cut out of clothes, I dread it when the boys say "mummy, cut the label out it's hurting me", for some weird reason it makes me cringe (and if you could see me typing this, you would think I'd lost it...

Name of the first boy you kissed and where were you?
I was 5, and it was in a pub garden behind a hydrangea bush...the boy in question is now in a very happy relationship with another guy, I hope it wasn't my kiss...!

Briefs, I just don't get boxers!

Most overused word in your vocabulary?
I have two boys aged 6 and 4 what do you think my most over-used word would be...yep, its "NO"!

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?
A snap-happy digiscrapping mother! (oh that is what I am anyways)

Today, we bring you another interview into one of our
Creative Sweeties dark sides!

This chickie has been with the team almost from the beginning,

and she has really showcased her layouts by allowing us to watch her

family grow right before our eyes!

Introducing Jan(intensemagic)!

Give us a brief bio of your non-scrap self - My name is Jan. I'm a 44 year old wife to 1 and mom to 3 (Aaron 19, Morgan 15, and Chance 5). Yep, started all over at almost 40 and it's been interesting to say the least!! I'm also a high school special education teacher in my other life!

Why did you start scrapping and what motiviates you to continue? I can't remember exactly what got me started. DH is a pro at Photoshop and he was showing me some things I could do with it. I'm pretty sure I was just browsing for things and stumbled across some scrapping sites. All the fabulous scrappers and designers out there keep me motivated...I've been at it for about 4 years now and I am always amazed at the gorgeous designs that just keep coming!!!

What LO have you made, that shows who you are as a scrapper, your "style" I would have to say this one is a good representation of my "style"...if I have one hahahaha

Why is being a Creative Sweetie important to you?? Omgosh, I've been stalking Liz since she was simply a scrapper and started making freebies!! I have followed her everywhere she has gone!! So, have the chance to create with her designs is one of the best things ever!! And I have to add, the team here is just amazing...the best personalities and so supportive!!
What's the best bumper sticker you have ever seen? I love this one simply because I am a teacher...had it on my car for a long time! LOL "It will be a great day when schools have all the money they need, and the military has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber"
If you were a cartoon or movie character, who would you be and why? I would have to be Goofy
What was your favorite muscial group in highschool and did you kiss their posters? Oh wow...I'm gonna date myself here LOL In high school I loved Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Rush....yep, I was a rocker I kissed Leif Garrett's poster alot in Jr. High LOL

Tell us a secret no one else knows - Not really a secret to many in real life, but maybe to those online...DH and I met online. He gave up everything and moved here to take on me and 2 then almost teenagers!

Interview Number #2...its a Doozey!

Hi, everyone...Happy Monday!!!

We have our second interview with the team members of Creative Sweeties

This was to post last Fri, but with all the fabulous sales and new

releases, wanted to wait for it to get it's own attention!

We introduce you to Leilani...(LEIdeeQ) in scrapland

I'm Leilani (pronounced Lay-Law-Knee) but go by Lei. I'm known as LEIdee Q around the forums. I'm a 31 yo SAHM to my 4yo son, Tranquilino whom is usually the main subject in my LOs. Married to Kevin (and the Army LOL) for 6 years. But have been together for 9. We are currently in the beautiful state of Hawaii, but that will change when the Army sends us back to the mainland this November. *sigh* Tranq just started kindergarten on August 2nd and it was hard to do, but mostly because Kev was not here to experience it. My family calls me tabloid, but whatever, I like to talk and share info. Mainly because we are spread out all over the place and I am the one that bugs everyone to see how they are doing. I call it updating the family. But they can call me a tabloid if they want to. Bwahahaha

Why did you start scrapping and what motiviates you to continue?
I would always write little notes and keep memorabilia in those old school static cling albums since grade school. But really got into paper scrapping about 11 yrs ago. I "discovered" digi in May of '08 and love it! I can't give up my paper scrapping addiction, so I LURVE doing hybrid! I like creatively preserving memories and enjoy doing it. I stay motivated because I know the rest of my family appreciates it. Besides, it's a lot more fun than just looking at photos in an album!

What LO have you made, that shows who you are as a scrapper, your "style"
I love color selection photos!

Why is being a Creative Sweetie important to you, and what is your favorite Liz kit?
Being a Sweetie is fantastical and I love playing with the new kits Liz comes up with. The girls are all wonderfully talented. If I ever am in a slump I have TONS of inspiration to sort through and get that mojo hopping again!

My Favorite kit of Liz's is:

What's the best bumper sticker you have ever seen?
     "Got Lumpia?" After I saw it, I had a mad craving for some! And I always enjoy the pidjin stickers around the island, one of my faves are "Ai No Kea" (I No Care/I don't Care)

If you were a cartoon or movie character, who would you be and why?
     I would be Cher from Clueless. That girl has got it all and no worries! LOL (Yes that movie is my guilty pleasure!)

Tell us a secret no one else knows
     I have a fear of clowns, dolls, birds, and thunder (don't laugh!) and don't like lizards, but they keep the bugs away.

Name of the first boy you kissed and where were you?
     His name is Bryan and we were in the 3rd grade. Kissed right outside the classroom during recess. Funny thing is, I haven't heard or talked to him since then. NOW, he found me on FB and is stationed on the island as well. Lives like 5 minutes away. weirdness, huh?! ROFL

     Boxers on the hubs. Whitey Tighties for the boy.

What have you forgotten to remember over the years?
     If I remembered I would tell ya! But probably embarrassing stories that I want to forget and my brothers will bring up to torture me!

     whatever (usually followed with an eye roll. LOL)

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?
     Well, I'd like to go back to school and finish my degree for Int'l Business because I've always wanted to travel. BUT we already do being a military family. LOL I like my "job" now. Being there for the hubs and kid.

Is there a question that has not been asked in the world?
     Hmm, don't know about any question that hasn't been asked, but I have a couple that haven't been answered: "Why hasn't anyone come up with a rhyme for orange?" and "Is plaid a color?"

I am sure alot of you know Lei, and hope you think she is as fun as we do!

Liz, the fantabulous designer of Sweet Digi Scraps

Well, I am Liz I am a 25 year old momma. I have 4 kiddos and I am a creative mess! I say mess cuz I love to dive into whatever sparks my creativity at the time. From scrapping, designing, singing, acting, writing.... you name it. I guess I am just an artsy kinda girl. I have been designing for 3 years now, and I dont think I will ever stop- its just to much fun! I don't scrap as much as I would like to (i need about 24 hours extra added to each day LOL) but when I do get to scrap I love to journal tons! I think one of my favorite layouts would have to be one I did of my son:

Each kit I create is a new favorite, but I would have to say I am still stuck on my new favorite- Photoshoot :)

How bout when I was in elementary school.... cuz then it was New Kids On the Block and I was OBSESSED!!! I kissed the posters, the blanket and the pillow!!! O and the figures that I had for the NKOTB toy stage too ;)

Well my parents know this... but when I was little, I had a California Raisin stuffie. I used to carry him around and tell everyone he was my boyfriend. I also made sure that everyone treated him like a real guy and he always got a plate at dinner time too LOL

Name of the first boy you kissed and where were you?
I dont remember his name, but it was on the school bus- and after kissing me he bent my finger and made me cry. I was like in 1st grade!! Boys can be sooo mean LOL

Most overused word in your vocabulary?
Probably Okies- Which isn't even a word (that and I definitely over use punctuation!)

Where's Waldo....and how the heck does he get around so fast?
Not sure, but I wish he would give me the secret on the fast paced moving!! A girl needs to know!!

Can you lick your elbows? How long did you try to see if you could?
Apparently not, and I am pleading the 5th on how long it took before I realized it is pratically impossible!!

I can truly say, I am not surprise with some of her answers, but definitely by others!

How about Some Momma Time?

If we are being honest, there are some days...we all get tired of

being "Mom". We love our kids, family, but really need our

"Me time" or "(insert any word here) times" LOL!

Liz has created several new kits, and they have several uses.

The team decided to focus on the "me" part first, but I can

see these kits being put to pages for many reason!

This first kit made me think of my morning coffee time, when I get

those few moments before the kids are up to check emails, walk around

my yard to see what had blossomed overnight, and occasionally...

take an uninterupted shower and even journal for a moment.....you get the idea.

Spring has officially Sprung...I think!

How are you all doing now that Spring is here?

It has been gorgeous here on the coast, so I have been in heaven.
We have been having days on the beach,
and getting much needed rejuvenation from the winter!

Lots of things have been going on with the team and Liz,

mostly behind the scene with some upcoming events

so our absence is all in preparation of good things to come!

I recently did a hybrid on my blog I wanted to share using these:
